Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Newport Beach, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a hospitality development; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Newport Pier is a municipal pier approximately 1,000 feet long owned and maintained by the City of Newport Beach (City). The surface of the pier is a poured concrete slab over a timber deck. The deck is supported in turn by a system of timber stringers, pile caps, and bracing. The pier structure includes 53 wooden bents comprised of between 5 and 15 wooden piles driven into the seafloor.At the end of the pier, situated over approximately bents 50, 51, and 52, is an abandoned restaurant building. The City evaluated the building condition and determined that the best course of action is to demolish the existing building and install a new building on the end platform. The City of Newport Beach is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional services in support of the project as outlined in the Scope of Service.The final work product will consist of plans, specifications, and construction estimates for the improvements to the pier platform, supporting piles, and utilities. Alternative designs may be requested during the design process to conform to available budgets. The City will evaluate the responses to this Request for Proposals (RFP) on a qualifications-based selection process as detailed herein.
