For the purposes of applying this qualification, a bridge is defined as a structure with a span of 4.5 meters or more. The bridges considered complex are as follows: Overage bridges Bridges with one span greater than 35 meters Bridges with several spans Bridges with pre-stressed concrete deck cast in place Non-standard bridges, in particular: cable, arch, truss, box girder bridges , on crutches, in curves, mobiles and road tunnels. Culverts and steel-wood bridges are not considered complex. This qualification notice is addressed to all unqualified contractors, and interested in being part of the list of companies and resources (project managers and technical representatives) qualified to participate in calls for tenders for complex structures which has entered into force. on August 1, 2020 and which will end on July 31, 2022 (SC-2020). This qualification notice is also intended for contractors already qualified on the SC-2020 notice, but wishing to add, replace or remove resources from their list of project managers and technical representatives. Contractors registered on the list of qualified contractors in complex structures currently in force do not have to submit a new request for qualification if they do not have to make any changes. The procedure described in article 4 Preparation and presentation of the request for qualification of the Instructions to contractors must be used. Only requests for qualification submitted by contractors with an establishment in Quebec or in a province or territory covered by the applicable agreements, and who meet the required qualification criteria, and who hold an ISO registration certificate in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard Quality management system issued by a registrar accredited by the Standards Council of Canada or by an accreditation body recognized by the latter (or a certification attestation). Only qualified contractors registered on the list in effect on the deadline for receipt of requests for qualification of such a call for tenders will be eligible and authorized to carry out construction work on complex structures. Whether there is related work or not, a qualified contractor may apply for qualification jointly with an unqualified contractor. If necessary, only the qualified contractor may carry out the part of the construction work relating to the complex structure. The qualified contractor must then make an additional commitment to this effect when signing the contract. The qualification of a contractor does not guarantee that the latter will be awarded a contract for the construction of complex structures nor releases him from the obligation to comply with all the specific requirements of such a contract.
