The St. Marys County Government (SMCG) is soliciting competitive bids to establish a Contract for the placement of Surface Treatment, Patching and Hot-Applied Crack Seal on existing roadways in various areas of St. Marys County, Maryland. The Specifications for this project shall include those of the Maryland State Highway Administration titled Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials (J-9), and revisions thereof or additions thereto contained in these general and special provisions, except as modified in this solicitation. Special attention is called to Section 503, Chip Seal Surface Treatment and Filling Cracks In Hot Mix Asphalt Pavements. The Work is situated on various roads throughout St. Marys County, Maryland. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashiers check, or a certified check of the Bidder payable to the Commissioners of St. Mary's County; OR by a Certified Copy of the Bid Bond from a Surety Company acceptable to the St. Mary's County Government and authorized to do business in the State of Maryland, properly executed in favor of the Commissioners of St. Mary's County for not less than five (5) percent of the amount representing the bid or sum total noted in the Proposal Form. The successful Bidder shall be required to deliver to the St. Marys County Government a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, properly executed by a Surety Company acceptable to the St. Marys County Government and authorized to do business in the State of Maryland, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the respective Contract amount.
