1 L.S. Lump Sum for Storm Sewer Improvements 100 S.Y. Additional PCC Paving Removal and Replacement 5 Ea. Furnish and install geofoam stoop 9500 S.F. Furnish and install 1.5-inch extruded polystyrene insulation board 1 L.S. Traffic Control 1 L.S. Erosion Control. Each proposal shall be made out on a blank form furnished by the Owner and must be accompanied by either a certified check payable to the Owner in an amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the proposal, certified check drawn on a bank that is a member of the Federal Reserve System or by a bid bond in a like amount executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in the State of Iowa. Such bid security shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the Owner insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Surety Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and terms and conditions therein contained and the maintenance of said improvements pursuant to the provisions of the Contract Documents. Payment to the Contractor for said improvements will be made from cash on hand. Estimates will be paid monthly by the Owner to the Contractor in accordance with the following schedule: Ninety-five percent (95%) upon certification of units completed; five percent (5%) thirty-one (31) days after final completion and acceptance. Work on the project shall begin after contracts are signed, insurance certificates are approved and Notice to Proceed is provided by the owner. All work on the project shall be substantially complete on or before November 10, 2020. The Owner reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date proposals are received, and no proposal may be withdrawn during this period. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and enter into such contract as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Owner.
