Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of December 23, 2021 this project has been awarded to Overley's with an awarded amount of $5,334,999.97. ** The proposed project is Peralta Regional Park, a new park located east of the US 60 near Gold Canyon in Pinal County, Arizona. The park site development will include various rough graded trails, loops, an equestrian staging area, a group picnic area, campsites, and primitive camping areas. Additional improvements will include a host site, group picnic ramadas and earthen roads. End of Q & A period-10/8/2021 @ 5PM Arizona Time The purpose of this project is to develop a "primitive" park that provides reasonable and somewhat rugged access for the public to a rich and vibrant natural Upper Sonoran Desert setting. The natural character of this site includes undulating topography, natural washes and drainages that reflect riparian vegetative qualities, and a full palette of Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. The intent of this project is to enable the public to experience this unique setting and enable access for passive recreational activities such as hiking, picnicking, tent camping, equestrian use, and other low-impact activities. The construction will include a road system, solar electric infrastructure (host ramada only), vault style restrooms, tent camping sites, individual and family picnic areas, , , an accessible interpretive trail loop and a stargazing node. . A critical priority of this project is to minimize the impact to the site's primary value which is its natural environment. This site presents many challenges in terms of undulating topography, drainage patterns and vegetated areas. The design has been arranged to accommodate the desired recreational facilities while addressing primitive road and facility design criteria. It is recognized that the facilities will be primitive in nature. The design attempts to minimize impacts to the site as much as possible while providing the facilities and working within an established budget. The approach to the implementation of this project will require a collaborative effort on the part of all parties concerned. This includes Pinal County, the design team, and the contracting team. A primary goal will always be focused on how the site impacts of the construction effort can be minimized while building safe and usable park facilities. There will be the requirement for the contracting team to work closely with the design team to confirm final placement and configuration of the facilities based on actual field conditions. Some level of minor adjustment shall be expected to "field truth" certain park facilities. Additionally, the contracting team will be responsible to take precautions and direct all contracting participants to not impact any area of the natural desert outside of the limits of work. This contract is for the development of a public park in a highly valued and sensitive natural setting. The accomplishment of that goal should be foremost in the mind and attitude of all participants and championed by the team leaders. With a collaborative, collective effort the true potential of this unique park will be created and in turn it will be recognized as a leading example of desertsensitive facility development. This project is sponsored by Pinal County.
