Upgrades to the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre for Energy conservation. The scope of work includes a comprehensive energy retrofit. The upgrades will provide an average energy reduction of 40 percent in City buildings by 2040, based on 2017 baseline; Reduce city GHG emissions by 80 percent from 1990 levels; Maximize opportunities of renewable energy; and Achieve financial return within maximum of 20 years using City's interest rates. TIMELINE: The Engineer completed a study and design to provide Energy conservation programs and Energy use reduction measures; the recommended solutions were approved by city staff early 2021. The engineer completed design for upgrades to the existing buildings and acted as an Equipment Supplier to provide all required Equipment forming part of the proposed work to help meet TransformTO goals, the City is looking for deep energy retrofits that will achieve the following recommended goals. The engineer is acting as contractor for upgrades to the location. Construction began August, 2021 with completion expected June, 2022. *Total project value is $2.2 million.
