Work includes the following: Sodium Hypochlorite Pipe Replacement: Select demolition and replacement of hypochlorite piping, valves, associated supports; demolition and replacement of chemical feed pumps and associated concrete bases; demolition and replacement of pneumatic control valves; recoating and rehabilitation of fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks for hypochlorite storage; demolition or support of existing underground utilities during buried pipe and chemical trench installation work; dewatering, site restoration, and surveying; clearing and grubbing, removal of site debris; demolition and replacement of electrical control panels, conduits, wires; installation of junction boxes, process instruments; installation of variable frequency drives and control panels; handling and proper disposal of debris and hazardous waste; and all required testing and training. LOX Storage Tanks Improvements: Select demolition of existing liquid oxygen copper piping and appurtenances; demolition and replacement of concrete curb and removable bollards; installation of welded stainless steel piping, brazed copper piping, instrument tubing, pipe supports, and appurtenances; installation of approximately 50 feet of underground electrical conduit, power and control wiring; installation of fill station control panel, instrumentation, and concrete support bases pads; handling and proper disposal of debris and hazardous waste; and all required testing and training. Wet Weather Storage Improvements: Select demolition of existing wet weather storage basin pipes; demolition of existing non-shrink grout; demolition of existing pump lifting rails; demolition of existing access hatch covers; fabrication, coating, and installation of new wet weather storage basin pipes and pipe supports; installation of new non-shrink grout; fabrication and installation of new pump lifting rails, intermediate guide rail brackets, and upper mounting bracket; fabrication and installation of replacement access hatch covers; handling and proper disposal of debris and waste; and all required testing and training. Construction Estimate: $4,100,000 to $4,600,000 Estimated cost of this work is between $4.1 million and $4.6 million. All work covered by the contract shall be completed within three hundred and twenty (320) calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. A bidder's bond for not less than 10% of the total bid dollar amount is required. Performance and payment bonds for not less than 100% of the contract price are required. As provided in Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contractor may substitute securities for monies withheld by the District to ensure performance of the work. All Contractors bidding on a public works project and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be registered with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code.
