Saving Project...

Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Miami, Florida. Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The project consists of replacing existing bridges which are moderately to severely deteriorated including fixed bridges 2 through 9, 11-12 and bascule bridge 10. Improvements will raise bridges to mitigate against sea-level rise, widen spoil islands to original footprint, wider sidewalks, new bicycle lanes and relocate utilities. It will also improve the overall safety of the corridor and provide wider green areas for recreational use. As of April 18, 2023, this project is in the design phase. An engineer has been selected for the project. Information regarding the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Construction timeline is dependent on funding, targeted for summer of 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
