As of October 21, 2021, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on first Monday of November. The Work is located in Smithfield, NC at the 210 WWTF site which is located adjacent to the Johnston County Landfill (680 County Home Road, Smithfield NC 27577). The Work consists of the following:
1. New preliminary treatment facility
2. New preliminary effluent distribution box
3. New BNR basins with fine bubble diffusers, mixers, nitrified recycle pumps, waste activated sludge pumps, and process drain pumps
4. New blower building
5. New secondary clarifiers
6. New recycle activated sludge pump station
7. New chemical storage and feed facility
8. New drain pump station
9. New disk filters
10. New ultraviolet disinfection facility (add alternate)
11. New sodium hypochlorite facility
12. New effluent pump station
13. New cascade aerator
14. New maintenance building
15. New administration building The Work shall be substantially completed within 840 calendar days; General Conditions within 900 calendar days from the date when the Contract Times commence to run. The Work will be financed by the State Revolving Fund loan under the Federal Clean Water Revolving Loan and Grant Act of 1987 (CS370560-18). Bidder shall make positive efforts to use small and minority-owned businesses and comply with NC Division of Water Infrastructure MBE/WBE requirements and GS 143-128. The contracted bidder shall comply with federal AIS and Davis Bacon requirements throughout the project. Bids will be received for a SINGLE prime Contract. Bids shall be on a LUMP SUM, with additive and deductive alternative bid items as indicated on the Bid Form. The Contract Times for the Work are set forth in the Agreement. With each request for Bidding Documents supply the following information: Company name, contact person, street address, phone number, and email address for Bidding point of contact; N.C. contractor's license with limitation and classification; indicate if the firm will be a Prime bidder, Supplier or Sub-Contractor. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from a source other than the Issuing Office (Hazen and Sawyer). All Bidders must be on the list of Pre-Qualified Bidders as selected by the County from Statements of Qualifications submitted on or before November 24, 2020.
