Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Works includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Project startup including mobilization to the Site. 2. Maintenance of all required bonds, insurances, registrations, and permits. 3. Development, implementation, and maintenance of a Site-specific Health and Safety Plan, Project Schedule, Shut Down Tie In (STI) Requests (Attachment B), and Commissioning Plans. 4. With regard to demolition of the existing Flare Building, CONTRACTOR will include development, maintenance, and implementation of an Asbestos Abatement Plan, including all testing and related third party analysis. 5. Development, implementation, and maintenance of an Environmental Construction Operations Plan. 6. Preparation and management of all shop drawings for review by OWNER and ENGINEER, including the Waste Gas Burner System before obtaining an approved Gas Permit in the province. 7. Provision and maintenance of all temporary facilities and controls, including but not limited to temporary roadways, and dewatering and sediment controls. 8. Site Civil Works: a. Construction of a new access road and associated site improvements as shown. b. Restoration of area of existing Flare Building following demolition. c. Installation of buried utilities and piping as specified from Area 50 Digester Control Building to the Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building. d. Installation of buried digester gas piping as specified from Area 50 Digester Control Building to Area 60 Utility Building. e. Removal of existing underground carbon steel digester gas piping to the existing Flare Building and the Area 60 Utility Building as shown. 9. Digester Control Building (Area 50): a. Setup temporary digester gas control facilities to permit tie-in of new digester gas isolation valves b. Installation of new isolation valves on the waste gas burner line to the existing Flare Building to allow for flow control of gas to the existing Flare Building or the new Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building during construction and start-up. c. Installation of the new Condensate Room including its structure, and related digester gas line, moisture knockout equipment, drip trap, and related devices. d. Installation of a new drip leg from the Utility Header to the Condensate Room, including drip trap and related devices. e. Connect to existing natural gas line in tunnel below existing Flare Building, and route new line to new Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building. f. Tie into and route an instrument air and final effluent water line to the Condensate Room and the Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building as required. g. Connection and tie in of condensate and drain piping forcemain to supernatant return line. h. Installation of HVAC equipment, and tie into existing plant hot water heating system including the installation of a packaged glycol head exchanger skid. i. Installation of new electrical power feed from the Area 60 Utility Building MCC-407E to Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building, and connection of the Condensate Room Electrical Loads in Area 50 to existing power sources in Area 50 as indicated on the drawings. j. Control Works to be performed under the Cash Allowance as indicated in the schedule of values: 1) All new control wiring, panels, and devices related to controls of the subject improvements. 2) All DeltaV programming. 3) Removal of all control wiring associated with the existing Flare Building after commissioning of new system. k. Removal of all existing electrical power wiring related to the existing Flare Building after commissioning of new system. 10. New Waste Gas Burner Building (Area 52): a. Structural foundation and building. b. All interior miscellaneous metal works, exterior stairs and railings. c. Doors, windows, architectural siding, roofing materials, insulation and miscellaneous architectural details. d. Building and process systems including: 1) Structural Components, elevated platform, and Jib crane. 2) Waste Gas Burner systems. 3) Gas supply lines including moisture removal equipment, devices, and controls. 4) Utility Connections (Instrument Air, Final Effluent Water, Natural Gas, etc.). 5) Building drainage and plumbing. 6) Building heating and ventilation. 7) Electrical power distribution and grounding. 8) Control wiring, instrumentation and appurtenances. 11. Existing Flare Building Following Commissioning of Area 52 Waste Gas Burner Building and Burner System: a. Remove existing mechanical and electrical equipment. b. Demolition of existing structures above / below grade including specified backfill as shown. c. Replacement of 50 mm diameter waterline and associated valves. d. Removal of existing electrical and control wiring. 12. Training ACRWC Staff on operating the new Waste Gas Burner System 13. Other miscellaneous works as outlined in the Contract Documents. 14. Restoration. 15. Demobilization and closeout.
