Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Cleveland, Ohio. Completed plans call civil work for a water / sewer project.

The Southerly Tunnel (SOT) and Consolidation (SOTC) project is a primary component of Control Measure #21 of the District's Consent Decree and includes the construction of a 23-foot diameter storage tunnel constructed in soil and extending approximately 18,000 feet in length, as well as two consolidation sewer systems that will connect to SOT, the Burke Brook and Morgana Run consolidation sewers. The SOT system will be dewatered by the Southerly Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station (STDPS), designed under a separate project, to send stored wet weather flows to the SWWTP. As of April 29, 2024 general contractor received notice to proceed. Construction completion scheduled for January 28, 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. In general, the work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals for construction of the following work: Approximately 18,060 LF of 23-ft (finished) diameter combined sewer overflow storage tunnel, excavated in soft ground and supported with a bolted, gasketed, one-pass steel fiber-reinforced precast concrete segmental lining. Four deep tunnel shafts, one dewatering drop shaft, diversion structures, combined diversion gate and screening structures, trenchless and open-cut consolidation sewers, miscellaneous modifications of existing regulator structures, and rehabilitation of existing sewers.
