Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Barrie, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; retail development; and playground / park / athletic field.

Expansion of the City of Barrie Marina. The marina currently includes approximately 340 seasonal slips and 50 transient boat slips, accommodating a combination of motor boats and sailboats. The permanent marina operates at capacity and has a waiting list of over 100 interested patrons. Use of the transient marina, which was expanded in 2017 varies based on weather and city programming. The opportunity would also include the relocation of the Sea Cadets facility and the redevelopment of the current Sea Cadet location and Spirit Catcher Park with a commercial Facility that would support a year-round destination for Barrie residents and visitors such as a restaurant/cafe complex. The existing marina area (both permanent and transient) as well as the parcel occupied currently by the Sea Cadets and Spirit Catcher Park would be subject to future redevelopment. TIMELINE: The city of Barrie Request For Expressions of Interest from private sector proponents, interested in becoming a strategic and financial partners with the City in the shared development of an expanded marina has closed. One bid was submitted and is under review. Further development timing will be determined summer/fall, 2020. The city is looking at options other than privatization for development on the waterfront.
