The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed bids furnishing labor, material and equipment required to complete the project in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and of the materials and to the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown and delineated upon the plans and specifications made therefore. The following information is presented to indicate the size of the project and no warrant is made or intended to final quantities: The project includes but is not limited to mobilization, deep lift asphalt concrete pavement repairs (cut & plug), asphalt overlay on existing pavement, traffic control, miscellaneous restriping, concrete rolled curb repairs, installation of loop detectors and all other items or details not mentioned above that are required by the contract Drawings and Specifications to repair various streets within the City of Los Altos. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the Citywith a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the successful Bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California. The cost of said bonds shall be included in the Bid amount. Bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the City in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. The City reserves the right to cancel the project, and to reject any or all bids if not satisfied as to the price for the work or the responsibility of the bidder. The City also reserves the right to waive any informalities according to law. All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be in writing and directed to the City Engineer, City of Los Altos, 1 North San Antonio Rd., Los Altos, CA, 94022 The estimated cost range is $1.3M to $1.6M. The work shall consist of, but not necessarily be limited to the following: posting and notifying affected residents and businesses of the work; removing existing asphalt and replacing with equal lift of asphalt (cut and plug), fog seal coating, 1.5" and 4" overlay, all as specified herein, marked in the field, indicated on the plans, or as directed by the Engineer. This item shall conform to the current Caltrans Standard Specifications Section 39, "Asphalt Concrete," and Section 94, "Asphaltic Emulsions," insofar as they are applicable.
