The goals of this project are to work closely with APRC staff, Commissioners and community stakeholders to develop the design of a new regional/neighborhood park; preliminary and final plans, specifications, sustainable and low maintenance recommendations, and cost estimates. The design team shall provide schematic design, design development, bidding and construction documents required for the construction of a new park. It is expected that every Ashland park will address the following essential elements of a public space: -Accessibility - the park will be accessible to all and will provide a variety of uses that will appeal to a diverse population as shown on the conceptual plan. -Specificity - the park will be designed in a way that will be clear to users and will entail exceptional designs for each park element that complements adjacent elements. -Functionality - the park will be designed to be aesthetic, inviting and easy to use. Elements will have multiple uses where possible. -Adaptability - the park will be designed to accommodate many uses and will encourage participant use through creative design and flexible spaces. -Innovation- the park will be designed in a way that will be low maintenance and limit water usage.
