Renovation of a military facility in Schofield, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The work consists of removal, decontamination and disposal of one 1000 gallon underground storage tanks (UST), tank contents, and associated piping and ancillary equipment. The removal of the tanks are excluded from regulation under 40 CFR 380 and, Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 342L; DOH-TGM-UST is included as a guidance document. However, petroleum releases from these tanks which may be discovered during construction are subject to regulation and Hawaii Department of Health oversight under Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 128D, Hawaii Environmental Response Law (HERL) and Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 11, Chapter 451, State Contingency Plan. Groundwater is not expected to be encountered. The project is Prevailing Wage & has the Buy American requirement. The project duration is 340 days. Trades required: Utility Locator, Demolition, Concrete, Excavating & Fuel Distribution (inc. Tanks).
