Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Working plans call for the construction of a 36,400-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility; clubhouse / community center; 8,000-square-foot, two-story above grade financial development; 3,100-square-foot day care center; and 20,000-square-foot theater / auditorium.
Scope: include a two-story headquarters for the Dolores Huerta Foundation, classrooms for art, dance, music and other activities. There will also be a 20,000 square foot amphitheater, a daycare center with two classrooms and a playground and a new two-story, 8,000 square foot Self-Help Federal Credit Union. The project will be completed in stages, with the amphitheater scheduled to open in the winter of 2022. As of September 2024, building permits are under review with the city. The owner is in the process of selecting a general contractor. A firm construction schedule has not been established. *The owner will only accept bids from union contractors and union subcontractors. There is a PLA for this project. Interested contractors may mail a letter of interest to the owner.
