The City of Lacombe (City) invites submissions from general contractors interested in pursuing prequalification status for the provision of design build team for the City of Lacombe Fire Station #1 as set out in this request. Respondents must be actively engaged in the line of work required to perform the scope of work identified and must be able to refer to work of a similar nature performed by them. The project includes construction of a new five-bay fire station in the Woodland neighbourhood at 4410 Woodland Drive, Lacombe, Alberta. An EMS station will be connected to the Fire Station; while the two will function as single facilities, the EMS component will operate as a distinct area. Opportunities for shared mechanical and electrical systems may be explored; however, systems should be considered separate at this stage. The final building area will be confirmed in alignment with the approved construction budget. The project is anticipated to include, but is not limited to, the following general scopes of work: Building foundation systems appropriate to the proposed structural solution, which may include piles, grade beams, and slab-on-grade construction Primary structural systems for the apparatus bay and supporting spaces, which may include precast, structural steel , or other suitable systems Exterior wall assemblies incorporating durable cladding systems and high-performance building envelope design Roofing systems designed to meet performance, durability, and climatic requirements Interior construction including structural and non-structural partitions, finishes, and functional spaces appropriate to a fire station facility Mechanical systems, including plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems designed to meet operational and performance requirements oBuilding automation and controls systems for integrated operation and monitoring Electrical systems including service, distribution, lighting, standby/emergency power, and building systems integration Communications and low-voltage systems, including voice/data infrastructure and station alerting systems
