This project will construct a 5.0 mile along abandoned stretch of the U&D Corridor from from Highmount to Big Indian. The Project offers an amazing opportunity to access the Shandaken Wild Forest area with its expansive network of hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country trails as well as providing access to the adjacent Belleayre Mountainside. The Trail will also connect the local community of Pine Hill to these established facilities and act as regional economic driver adding a sustainable attraction for users of all abilities within the area. As of April 24, 2024, this project is included in the County of Ulster's FY 2024-2029 CIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
