The project was awarded to Hi-Tech Engineering, Melbourne, FL amount of $45,000.00. It is the intent to have the project begin in early May of 2020, and have the project completed by the end of May 2020. The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting bids and proposals for a variety of goods and services; such as, construction, equipment, and architectural/engineering services. 1. To replace the existing decking and handrails in their current location and configuration. 2. Replace all decking and structural supports stringers, joists, etc. Replace bulkheads and pilings as needed, including stairs stringers and boards leading to the Grant House. 3. Replace both seating areas with new decking and support structure, including new benches in the same configuration. 4. Lumber specs ground contact #1 .60 Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) treated for all structural lumber stringers, joist, pilling, posts or bulkhead. Ground contact #1 .40 ca/acq (pressure treated wood) for decking, benches and railing boards. Widths of deck board and handrail shall be 2 inches x 6 inches. Stringers, joist, or any structural lumber shall be 2 inches x 8 inches. 5. All hardware or fasteners of any type are to be stainless steel. 6. All decks need to match the grade of any raised area; such as entrances to piers, walkways or any existing entrance point. Completed work shall have no tripping hazards to exist in the boardwalk areas. 7. All edges of lumber are to be routed or sanded, for safety concerns. 8. Overall approximate size walkway 345 feet in length. 300 feet of length is 6 feet wide, with the remaining 45 feet of length ranging between 8 feet to 12 feet in width. 9. Platforms for seating two (2) areas are 12 feet by 10 feet with benches along the outer perimeter. 10.
