Estimated to be under $250,000 Asbestos Abatement of thermal pipe insulation and vinyl asbestos floor tile and mastic in selected areas of the North wing of the Capitol building. a. Using Agency will remove furniture, equipment and loose objects from the areas where abatement will occur. b. Secretary of State (SOS) maintenance staff shall continue to maintain all building systems in other occupied areas of the building. Contractor shall cooperate with SOS and minimize any impact the Construction work may have on the existing systems, and shall coordinate shutdowns and cutovers with SOS personnel. Where existing systems affecting other occupied areas of the building are required to be temporarily shut-down, coordinate such shut-downs with the Owner; shut-downs will typically have to be scheduled overnight or on weekends, with no additional costs for overtime or premium time incurred by the Owner. c. A project to construct a new below-grade mechanical room on the East side of the North wing, along with minor remodeling within the building will be ongoing at the same time as this project. Contractor shall fully cooperate with other Contractors with regards to site staging and interface between the two projects. The VBE goal for this contract is 0 percent The MBE/WBE goal for this contract is 0 percent North Wing Renovation, Illinois State Capitol, Asbestos Abatement -Phase I The contractor shall complete all work through Substantial Completion in accord with the contract within forty (40) consecutive calendar days from the date of the Authorization to Proceed and shall complete all remaining work in accordance with the contract (Final Acceptance) within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days from the date of Substantial Completion.
