Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Fairfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
**As of June 25, 2020 This project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award will be next week..** The project has been rebid The proposed project, which is contingent upon FAA funding, includes pavement rehabilitation to Runway 4-22 (approximately 4,550' x 80'), as well as adjacent taxiway and crosswind runway tie-in. The total area of pavement to be addressed is approximately 385,000 SF. The project will include the following: 1. Full depth pavement removal and replacement on approximately 1,800 LF of Runway 4-22. Also included is minor regrading and compaction of crushed aggregate base course. 2. 3" milling and replacement of existing bituminous asphalt surface course on approximately 2,750 LF of Runway 4-22. 3. Interim and permanent pavement markings. 4. Pavement grooving. 5. Minor edge of pavement regrading/restoration as required to meet safety area requirements. The project will be bid as a Base Bid and an Add-On No. 1. The Base Bid shall include the project scope of work to be completed utilizing two (2), eight-hour (8 hour) shifts per calendar day. Add-On No. 1 for the project will include the installation of a surge protection device in the electrical building. Information and/or contract documents obtained from any source other than Essex County Improvement Authority shall not be used for the calculation of bids or for the preparation of bid submissions. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total maximum bid price (combination of base bid or alternate bid plus add-on items) for the contract in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the bid. No bidder shall rely upon any oral communication from anyone. The deadline for submitting questions prior to receipt of bids is March 17, 2020 at noon PAY TO PLAY REQUIREMENTS. The Vendor/Contractor must file an annual political contribution disclosure statement with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission ("ELEC") pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.13 (P.L. 2005, c. 271s.3) if the Vendor/Contractor receives contracts from public entities totaling in excess of $50,000 in a calendar year. It is the Vendor/Contractor's responsibility to determine if the filing of an ELEC disclosure statement is necessary. Additional information on this requirement is available from ELEC at 888-313-3532 or at www.elec.state.nj.us. The ECIA reserves the right to waive any informalities in the proposal and to reject any and all proposals for any and all reason(s).
