The work for which bids are asked includes the following:The project includes installation of approximately 1700 LF of C900 Watermain and approximately 1500 LF of PVC Gravity Sanitary Sewer. Utilities installation work will include a ULO to located existing watermain, connection to existing gravity sanitary sewer and watermain, excavation and installation of proposed underground utilities, and accompanying structures, fittings, valves and hydrants and associated grading and restoration. Installation of these proposed underground utilities will involve impacts to the roadway of Vilas Road. Work is to include two asphalt patches involving the removal and replacement of roadway base, asphaltic pavement, shouldering and concrete curb and gutter as necessary. Impacts to the north bound lane are anticipated as a result of utilities installation and will be repaired after completion of utility construction. Work for this will include removal of existing asphalt pavement, addition and regrading of dense graded base and installation of new asphaltic pavement roadway with accompanying shoulder. Wetland and waterway disturbance and restoration are anticipated as part of this project. The anticipated substantial completion date is 90 Working Days after Notice to Proceed Date and final completion date is 120 Working Days after Notice to Proceed Date. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. BIDDER is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within the 72 hours of bid opening to MSA Professional Services, Inc., Attn: Kevin Lord, 1702 Pankratz Street, Madison, WI 53704. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
