Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Public works improvement contract which will include Memorial Drive & Pine Street Reconstruction with the following items or work: 8" Storm Sewer 100 L.F.12" Storm Sewer 252 L.F. Storm Sewer Manholes 3 EA 2' x 3' Curb Inlets 6 EA Excavation 1300 C.Y. Curb Removal 2400 L.F. Asphalt Removal 530 C.Y. Asphalt Milling 4000 S.Y. Base Aggregate 1800 TONS Asphalt Base 1200 TONS Asphalt Surface 1125 TONS Concrete Curb & Gutter 2000 L.F. Concrete Cross Gutter 450 S.F. Concrete Sidewalk & Ramps 7500 S.F. Quantities of pavement marking, lawn restoration, and other items applicable to the above work. The document set describes items and quantities for bid proposal. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded by the South Milwaukee Common on April 8, 2020 and the work shall be substantially complete by August 28, 2020, due to abutting elementary school. Underground utility work and removals, as allowed and described in the special provisions, can start in mid-May. The City of South Milwaukee reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bidding. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of the City of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for closing bids. All proposals must be submitted on a form provided for that purpose as issued within the Document Set, together with a certified check or a bid bond not less than five (5%) percent of the bid, payable to the City of South Milwaukee as a guarantee that, if the bid accepted, the bidder will execute and file the contract and a performance bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the total proposal price within ten (10) working days after the award of the contract. Failure to execute such contract and performance bond shall be cause for forfeiture of the check or bid bond as liquidated damages. Prequalification forms for 2020 are required to be on file in the Office of the City Engineer for all contractors and subcontractors at least seven (7) days prior to bid opening. The Common Council's decision as to qualification shall be final.
