Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Alexandria, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City has issued the ITB to obtain Bids from qualified Bidders to enter into a Contract for the provision of construction services for the Charles Barrett Recreation Center Playground Renovation project. The successful Bidder shall provide the prescribed goods, services, labor, supervision, required bonds, and insurance necessary to renovate the playground as shown on the provided construction plans and technical specifications. The construction plans and technical specifications are included as separate Portable Document Format (PDF) downloads with the ITB. The Bidder will be responsible for all site work, excluding the furnishment of site furnishings, and the provision of the playground equipment and playground surface materials and installation, which will be City provided, as further detailed in Section H-12, City-Furnished Goods, Property, and Services. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check of the bidder payable to the City or by a certified copy of the bid bond from a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, properly executed in favor of the City for not less than five (5) percent of the amount representing the bid or sum total noted in Section B. Deadline for Vendors to Submit Vendor Clarification Questions and 'or equal' Substitution Requests April 19, 2023, at 4 p.m., prevailing local time Bidders shall submit any questions regarding sites, scope of work, Contract requirements in writing to Chrisalen.Yanez@alexandriava.gov. Cut-off for questions The successful bidder shall be required to deliver to the City a performance bond and a payment bond, properly executed by a surety company acceptable to the City and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the respective Contract amount Site visits will not be rescheduled unless it is in the best interest of the City. Vendors who miss their scheduled dates/times are not guaranteed a make-up visit. The Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion within one hundred and eighty (180) Calendar Days from the Notice-to-Proceed. Notice-to-Proceed is anticipated to be issued by July 15, 2023, however this is subject to change at the discretion of the City
