Demolition, site work, new construction, remodeling, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Benzonia, Michigan. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for the addition of a fitness / recreation center; for the remodel of a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of December 15, 2021, this bond passed and packages have been bid out, with the Betsie Valley Elementary package bidding currently and Phase 2 of the Middle School/High School remodel set to bid in January. An architect and construction manager have been selected. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in April 2022. The new bond proposal to support infrastructure upgrades at Benzie County Central Schools would raise $39.5 million over the course of 24.5 years. The Bond funds: The construction of a new elementary building on the high school campus to replace Crystal Lake Elementary Roof replacements and HVAC upgrades across the district The renovation of classrooms from the older wings of Betsie Valley Elementary and the high school building Add on classrooms to Lake Ann Elementary to accommodate the school's growing early education programs. Construction of a new bus garage on the high school campus and purchase approximately 20 new buses over a 10-year period. *Please see associated projects for further information on bid packages.
