Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Arlington, Texas. Completed plans call for the addition of a 76,000-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The project consists of a single-story kitchen addition and a new canopy structure to the existing Short Elementary School located at 2000 California Lane in Arlington, Texas. It is understood that the new kitchen addition will have plan dimensions of 32 feet by 14 feet and will be constructed on the northwest corner of the existing school building. It is understood that the new building addition will have concentrated column loads ranging from 45 kips to 90 kips. It is understood that a new canopy structure will be constructed at the main entrance area located on the north side of the existing school building. It is further understood that the existing building is supported by both underreamed belled piers and straight shaft piers in conjunction with slab-on-grade foundation. In addition to the new kitchen addition and new canopy structure, it is understood that a new parking lot and fire lanes will be constructed. The new pavement addition and fire lanes will be constructed on the east and south side of the existing parking area located on the east side of the existing school building The Board of Education of the Arlington Independent School District will receive, one (1) printed original proposal with original signatures (Marked "ORIGINAL"), one (1) printed copy, and (1) electronic copy in Portable Digital Format (PDF) stored on thumb (USB) drive will be required to be submitted to the office of the Purchasing Director, 690 E. Lamar Boulevard, Arlington, Texas, 76011 as per attached specifications The Arlington Independent School District agrees to use diligent efforts to purchase all goods and services from businesses within the boundaries of the Arlington Independent School District whenever such goods and services are comparable in availability, quality and price. The district encourages contractors, in performing the contract, to implement the same policies. The Arlington Independent School District awards all bids in accordance with Texas Education Code, Section 44.031. and the Texas Government Code, Section 2269. Awards are made considering the best value for the District. Project budget is estimated at $5,663.601. The Arlington Independent School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any formality or irregularity and to make the award of the contract in the best interest of the Arlington Independent School District. The District reserves the right to enforce the performance of this contract in any manner prescribed by law or deemed to be in the best interest of the District in the event of breach or default of this contract. The District reserves the right to terminate the contract immediately in the event the successful bidder fails to meet schedules or otherwise perform in accordance with these specifications. Breach of contract or default authorizes the District to purchase the service from the next low bidder or elsewhere, and charge the full increase in cost and handling to the defaulting successful bidder. Any item which does not perform or meet tests as specified or claimed by the seller will be replaced at no cost to the school district. All discounts shall be listed on the bid form. Payment will be made only after satisfactory delivery and/or installation. Transfer or assignment of contracts by seller is prohibited.
