The SW Walnut Street and SW Ordnance Road Water Main shall include the installation of approximately 3,550 LF of 8" water main along the west side of SW Walnut Street from SW 3rd Street to the north side of SW Ordnance Road, and along SW Ordnance Road from SW Cherry Street to an existing main adjacent to the police station. The water main along SW Walnut Street shall be bored installation while the water main along SW Ordnance Road shall be a combination of bored and open cut installation. Project also includes the addition of on-street diagonal parking on the west side of SW Walnut from approximately 125' south of SW 3rd Street to approximately 70' south of the High Trestle Trail. The construction improvements include approximately 3,120 LF of trenchless 8" water main, 430 LF of trenched 8" water main, approximately 1,330 SY of 7" thick PCC Class C-SUD street pavement, Class 10 excavation, subgrade preparation, driveways, sidewalks, pavement markings, temporary surface restoration, permanent surface restoration, temporary traffic control, mobilization, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project. The Contractor shall substantially complete the overall project within one hundred thirty (130) working days. Substantial completion for the overall project shall be defined as all utility, grading, and pavement construction completed; with the new pavement markings and signs installed; and the driveways, and sidewalks fully open to traffic. A mandatory six-day work week is not required; however, working days will be charged on Saturdays if the Contractor elects to perform bid item work on Saturdays. Should the Contractor fail to substantially complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not substantially completed within the designated Contract term(s). The Contractor shall fully complete the overall project within ten (10) working days after the punch list has been provided to the Contractor following substantial completion of the overall project. Full completion for the overall project shall be defined as all work including permanent surface restoration and punch list items completed, and all improvements ready for final acceptance. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not fully completed within the designated Contract term(s). A fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per set will apply to additional sets and to bidding documents requested by other than prospective bidders. This fee is refundable, provided the following conditions are met: (1) The Contract Documents are returned complete and in a good usable condition.
