Renovation of an educational facility in Orlando, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) Facilities Services has identified specific needs to replace roofs on select buildings at two campuses, to include replacement of roofs on seven (7) buildings at Avalon Middle School, located at 13914 Mailer Blvd, Orlando, FL 32828, and replacement of roofs on seven (7) buildings at Meadowbrook Middle School, located at 6000 North L, Orlando, FL 32808. The combined estimated construction budget for both schools is $4,500,000. Avalon Middle School has eight (8) permanent buildings and Meadowbrook Middle School has eight (8) permanent buildings; Building 1 at both campuses is not part of this project. The School Board of Orange County, Florida is interested in entering into a contract with a single qualified firm to perform Construction Management (CM) at risk services, as outlined in the contract to be entered into, the form of said contract being attached hereto. The CM is responsible for the successful, timely, and economical completion of the construction projects. The Contract(s) shall be subject to the limitations and restrictions of Florida Statutes. Major elements of the project include: Avalon Middle School 1) Demo existing roofing and insulation to deck (evaluate feasibility of reusing existing insulation). Select repair of roof decking as needed. 2) Reroof approximately 140,000 SF of existing Modified Bitumen (Mod Bit) roofing with single ply roofing Meadowbrook Middle School 1) Demo existing roofing and insulation to deck (evaluate feasibility of reusing existing insulation). Select repair of roof decking as needed. 2) Reroof approximately 150,000 SF of existing Modified Bitumen (Mod Bit) roofing with single ply roofing. The general services outlined below will be performed: 1) Pre-Construction Phase Services shall include but are not limited to: attending any and all design and preconstruction conferences, assisting and cooperating with the Design Professional with respect to the design of the Project, reviewing and commenting on design documents, constructability review, advertising & conducting pre-bid conference, providing cost estimates & GMP development, preparing construction schedule and incorporating design schedule into a single project schedule, refining general requirements and general conditions, and documenting "as-is" conditions (including offsite utilities from which connections are to be made).2) Construction Phase Services include, but are not limited to, furnishing and paying for all management, supervision, financing, labor, materials, tools, fuel, supplies, utilities, equipment and services of every kind and type necessary to diligently, timely and fully perform and complete the construction of the entire Project in a good and workmanlike manner in accordance with the Construction Documents.
