Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Buxton, North Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

As of July 14 , 2020 the Buxton 2020 Storm Sewer Improvements project was awarded to Florian & Sons Excavating, Inc for the amount of their bid. The start and completion date was not determined yet. The scope of Work to be completed under this project generally consists of: Installation of a shallow (2-3 deep) slotted draintile, PVC area inlets and driveway/street replacement as determined by construction activities. Storm Sewer Improvements and related items consist of the following: Mobilization, Traffic Control, SWPPP Implementation & Maintenance, 8 Slotted Dual Wall HDPE Pipe, PVC Inlets, 4-Inch Bituminous Pavement (4), Bituminous Driveway Replacement, Concrete Driveway Replacement, Aggregate Driveway Replacement. The work shall be done under one contract in accordance with Bidding Documents on file in the Office of AE2S, 4050 Garden View Drive, Grand Forks, ND 58201. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Title 40 CFR Part 33 Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in the United States Environmental Protection Agency Programs. The requirements for bidders and contractors under this regulation concern utilization of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Womens Business Enterprises (WBE), and Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and are explained in the specifications. The goal for MBE is 2% of the total dollar value of the project. The goal for WBE is 3% of the total dollar value of the project. To demonstrate a good faith effort to comply, bidders must include the MBE/WBE subcontractor solicitation form in the bid package. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the Presidents Executive Order No. 11246, as amended. The requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with American Iron and Steel requirements of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014. The requirements for bidders and contractors under this regulation are explained in the specifications. Each Bid must be completed in accordance with the Bidding Documents and accompanied by a separate envelope containing an acceptable Bidders bond executed by the Bidders principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of North Dakota payable to the City of Buxton in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the Bidders maximum Bid submitted. This is to serve as a guarantee that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract within seven (7) days of Notice of Award in accordance with the terms of the principals Bid and a contractor's bond as required for the performance of such work. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to the Bidder's bond, and any deficient Bid submitted will be released and returned to the Bidder immediately. Each Bid shall contain a copy of a contractors license or certificate of renewal thereof issued by the Secretary of State enclosed in the required bid bond envelope. No contract shall be awarded to any contractor unless Bidder is the holder of a license in the class within which the value of the project falls. All Bids must be submitted in a Bidding envelope that is securely sealed. The envelope shall be plainly marked to indicate the contents and shall show the name of the person, firm, or corporation submitting the Bid, project title, and acknowledge receipt of all Addenda. No Bid will be read or considered that does not fully comply with the above provisions regarding bonding and licensure, and receipt of Addenda, if any. Any deficient Bid submitted will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Additional Description: Bids will be taken under advisement and the award of the contract, if awarded, will be made within sixty (60) days after the date of opening the Bids. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the Bids received as deemed to be most favorable to the interest of the City of Buxton. All Work shall be Substantially Complete by August 15, 2020. All work including punchlist items shall be complete and ready for Final Payment by August 31, 2020.
