Site work for a road / highway in Jacksonville, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

Due to the public health crisis, the City of Jacksonville is currently working remotely and all projects are currently on hold please check back once we return to normal business. This contract is for the installation of signs at various locations in Duval County, Florida. Specific project locations and designs will not be known at the time of letting, and will be determined during project development. The City will issue no more than three (3) work orders at a time, to each contractor. The City will issue work orders based on satisfactory completion and acceptance of work completed. The City and their staff will be responsible for providing a sign design package to the Contractor for each location through a work order. During the design phase of each work order the Contractor will attend field meetings with the designer, including a design kickoff meeting and utility coordination meeting. Contractor shall be responsible to identify and coordinate with respective utilities. Upon completion of the design, the Contractor will be provided a sign design package for each individual location which will include the applicable pay items and quantities, and plan drawing. The City reserves the right to select and distribute work to be performed. Work consists of contractor furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all operations necessary for the construction of signs per City of Jacksonville and MUTCD Standards or the replacement of defective, obsolete or damaged signs which will be returned to Traffic Engineering. This is including but not limited to the installation of single or multipost signs, installation of sign and post. The unit price description of each work effort will specify whether the work to be performed will be done with material or equipment that is supplied by the City or supplied by the contractor. If there are any questions concerning the design or bidding of this project, please contact Marilyn Laidler from the Procurement Division in writing to mlaidler@coj.net If required below, the Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a surety company regularly commissioned and currently licensed as a resident or non-resident agent in the State of Florida, or either a certified or cashier's check drawn on any national bank in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid amount made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Except as provided in Section 20.45 of the General Conditions, Contract Bonds in the form provided in these Contract Documents will be required in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount and shall be written with a surety company regularly commissioned and currently licensed as a resident or non-resident agent in the State of Florida. In revision to Section 20.6.5, if the contractor fails to promptly and faithfully perform and complete the construction work within a reasonable time, but in no event later than forty-five (45) days from City's issuance of a blanket order or purchase order under the contract, it is agreed that for each calendar day any work remains substantially incomplete after the forty-five (45) days, the amount of $250.00 shall be deducted from the monies due to the contractor, not as a penalty, but as liquidated damages. The City of Jacksonville reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive informalities, irregularities or technical defects in any Bid, make award in part or whole with or without cause, and to make the award it deems to be in the best interest of the City of Jacksonville.
