Repair and repainting of the 500,000 gallon West Elevated Water Tank and miscellaneous associated work. General Description of the Work: The work to be performed under these Contract Documents consists of modifications and repairs to the 500,000 gallon West Water Tower, located in Oelwein, Iowa. The following is a general description of the principal work elements of the project: 1. Perform the repairs and modifications to the West Water Tower as specified in Section 33 16 20. 2. Perform surface preparation and repainting of the West Water Tower as specified in Section 09 01 90.60. 3. Install chain link fencing and as specified in Section 32 31 13. B. The tank location is adjacent to residential homes; protection of all surrounding property and belongings will be required. C. The existing exterior tank coating is known to contain lead; full containment of the removal work will be required if Bid Alternate No. 1 is selected.
