Seminole County Public Works Department desires to retain a consultant to prepare a final design package for construction of roadway improvements to State Road 434 from just west of Jetta Point to just south of Artesia Street. The objective of the project is to widen the roadway, improve roadway safety, construct roundabouts, address drainage issues, add bicycle lanes and sidewalks, etc. It is Seminole County's desire to retain a FDOT prequalified Professional Engineering Firm to perform the aforementioned work. The consultant shall be required to coordinate with FDOT regarding all aspects of the project including (but not limited to) uploading project documents within the ERC system, addressing Seminole County and FDOT comments, preparing cost estimates as required by the FDOT (right-of-way, construction, etc.) according to the systems and methods used by FDOT, providing progress reports, schedule updates, etc. Submittals will be accepted only from firms pre-qualified in the FDOT work types: The Prime Consultant Must be prequalified in Major Work Group 3.2 Major Highway Design, and for the Minor Work Groups (Prime or Sub-Consultant must be pre-qualified and identified within the Prime Consultant's proposal) 4.1.1 Miscellaneous Structures, 6.2 Traffic Signal Timing, 6.3.1 Intelligent Transportation Systems Analysis and Design, 7.1 Signing, Pavement Marking and Channelization, 7.2 Lighting, 7.3 Signalization, 8.1 Control Surveying, 8.2 Design, Right-of-Way and Construction Surveying, 8.3 Photogrammetric Mapping, and 8.4 Right-of-way Mapping. 9.1Soil Exploration 9.2 Geotechnical Classification Lab Testing, and 9.5 Geotechnical Specialty Lab Testing. MWBEs are encouraged to participate in the process, though it is not mandatory and no preference points will be given in the selection process for MWBE participation. Question End Date 5/10/2020 5:00 PM As of June 2, 2021, the project is 30% construction documents complete. The tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been released. The construction will be funded by FDOT through the LAP program. At this time, a construction start date has not been established, but it is assumed that construction will not start before July, 2025.
