Site work for a transportation facility in Lac-Megantic, Quebec. Working plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Construction of the railway bypass for a length of 12.8 km around the city to move the rail lines away from the city center destroyed by a train carrying crude oil derailed in downtown Lac-Megantic. The project will involve construction of new bridges over Chaudiere River, Road 204; Road 3e Rang, installation of 24 prefabricated culverts and other related work. TIMELINE: Working drawings are ongoing. Tender and construction schedules will be finalized once all government approvals are in place. The global project cost is estimated at $237,200,000. It includes the construction of the Lac-Mégantic railway bypass, the dismantling of the existing track and the implementation of environmental measures. Further update in spring, 2026
