The work is a public improvement Citywide to microsurface certain designated streets as directed by the Director of Public Works for Kansas City, Missouri. The items of work and the basis of payment are as listed in the Proposal The Director of Public Works reserves the right to add or delete streets, or change the type of treatment during the life of this contract. Should streets be added, deleted, or a change in treatment type occur said changes in work will be completed under the contracted bid line item(s) and price(s) at the time of bid without additional markup, mobilization, or any other fees as a result of streets being added, deleted, or a change in treatment type. CONTRACTOR shall request any time extension at the time of the addition, deletion, or change in treatment type. Changes will be made at such time so as to avoid imposing hardship on the CONTRACTOR. Work added and or changed via written change order will be completed within 21 calendar days of the date of issuance of said change order or as agreed to by the City of Kansas City. All work within this contract shall be conducted under dry conditions (free from moisture or liquid) throughout the entire contract, unless otherwise permitted by the engineer or his representative. This work shall consist of the application of Slurry Seal Material to an existing surface. The Slurry Seal shall consist of a mixture of emulsified asphalt, mineral aggregate and potable water, properly proportioned, mixed and spread on the surface in accordance with this specification and as directed by the Engineer. This work shall consist of the application of a polymer modified asphalt emulsion, mineral aggregate, mineral filler, potable water, and other additives, properly proportioned, mixed and spread on a paved surface in accordance with this specification and as directed by the Engineer.
