As of January 5, 2023, an architect has been selected. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Glynn County Board of Education (BOE) and CCG, a unit of the University System of Georgia, recognize the significant importance and value that quality arts education and programming provide for K-12 and college students. As such, a partnership was formed to design, construct, and operate an arts facility on the College of Coastal Georgia's Brunswick campus funded by a local 1% ESPLOST. Coastal Community Center of the Arts (CCCA) will include a 1,000 seat capacity performance quality auditorium for use by both partners, as well as by community organizations for the advancement of the arts. CCCA will be built following the USG's design and construction standards. CCCA will serve as a multi-use music and events venue for southeast Georgia, providing cultural, economic, and social programming to K-12 and college students, as well as the community at large. CCCA will support CCG's academic programming, co-curricular programming, and extra-curricular programming and will work collaboratively with the BOE to seek educational and cultural programming opportunities. This project proposes a 1,000-seat capacity performance quality auditorium with high quality acoustics to accommodate music and dance performances, lectures, meetings, and other events. Additional components would include a lobby and backstage area with adequate storage. The total project budget is estimated at $20,000,000. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost is of the Project is estimated at $14,825,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances.
