Work may include but not be limited to the following: furnish all labor, materials and equipment to remove and dispose of existing AC and PCC improvements as required by the Project Plans. The street improvements include grind and overlay AC pavement or reconstruction. Provide new accessible compliant PCC curb ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutter, miscellaneous adjustments to grade of driveways, landscape areas, relocation of property owner landscaping, relocation or replacement of existing fencing and gates, irrigation systems, replacement of parking lot paving as noted on the Project Plans. Removal and replacement of curb drains. Coordination with Utility Owner's regarding adjustment to grade of their existing improvements. Remove and replace pavement markings and install new signs. Traffic signal modifications and improvements with fiber optic communication are also included in the project. All Bids shall be accompanied by cash, a certified bank draft, or a bond from an accredited surety company payable to the City of Chino for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid submitted. The bid security will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) days following receipt of the Notice of Award with the contract documents, in accordance with California Public Contract Code Sections 20170 through 20174. All questions or requests for interpretation regarding this bid solicitation must be submitted online through electronically before 5 p.m. on May 13, 2020. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any irregularity, and award the contract for the best interest of the City. The Project or Work is anticipated to begin in late April or early May of 2020. The Project or Work must be completed within 120 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. Damages for avoidable delays shall be in the amount of $1,000.00 (One Thousand Dollars) per calendar day in excess of the time specified for completion of the Work. Such sum may be deducted from payments due the Contractor if such delay occurs. The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class A contractor's license from the time the bids are due and throughout the entire term of the contract.
