STD's overarching goal for this project is to develop a self-sustaining bus shelter program that will ensure the appropriate numbers of high quality bus shelters; and, maintained in "like new" condition for the benefit of all STD riders and the communities which it serves. It is the intent of STD to work with the successful proposer to provide advertising and maintenance services for 78 bus shelters within STD, of which 50 have and 28 do not have advertising space. It is also the intent of STD to use revenues generated from the advertising program to maintain the safety, appearance, and cleanliness of all bus shelter locations as well as provide opportunities to serve the public in the manner in which the Board of Directions deem appropriate. STD is interested in creating bus shelters with amenities that go beyond the typical bus shelter. We envision every shelter location as a high quality point of contact with our riders. They are an extension of the quality transit service they have come to expect in the STD. Therefore, the standards in this program are stringent. STD is seeking quality proposals to meet these standards as in reflected in the Technical Specifications section of this RFP. STD staff will closely monitor every aspect of the program resulting from this RFP and intends to ensure strict compliance with the scope detailed herein.
