Fiscal Year 2019-20 Major Arterial Pavement Rehabilitation Projects at Highland Avenue and Hermosa Avenue Scope of work to be performed consists of, but not limited to, cold milling; weed killing, routing and crack sealing; asphalt rubber hot mix overlay; grinding and patching asphalt concrete; adjusting existing manholes and valves to new grade; Video detection system, access curb ramps; sidewalk repairs; and pavement markers and striping. Engineer's Estimate is approximately $1,010,000. A total of 60 working days to complete the project. In accordance with provisions of Section 3300 of the California Public Contract Code, the City has determined that Contractor shall possess any and all contractors licenses, in form and class as required by any and all applicable laws with respect to any and all of the work to be performed under this contract including, a "Class-A" (General Engineering Contractor) or "Class C-12" (Earthwork and Paving Contractor) in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's License Law (California Business and Professions Code, Section 7000 et. seq.). Contractor shall also obtain at least one technician performing the work certified as an International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Senior Field Technician Level III. In accordance with the provisions of California Labor Code, Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, Articles 1 and 2, the Contractor is required to pay not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the public work is performed, and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for holiday and overtime work. In that regard, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California is required to and has determined such general prevailing rates of per diem wages. The Contracting Agency also shall cause a copy of such determinations to be posted at the job site. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the form and amount specified in Public Contract Code Sections 20170 and 20171. See Bid Package for details. A Payment Bond and a Completion Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount, will be required of the Contractor.
