Larimer County intends to enter into a contract with one (1) qualified General Contractor through this Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) solicitation to provide pre-construction and construction services for an expansion to the existing Alternative Sentencing Department building. The expansion project will occur at the existing Larimer County facility at 2307 Midpoint Drive in Fort Collins, CO. It is anticipated that the CMaR contractor will be selected by the end of February 2021. The existing Alternative Sentencing Department (ASD) building was constructed in 2011/12 and provides alternative sentencing options for lower-level crimes. The sentence allows the offender to continue working while still serving their sentence. The offender also pays for a portion of the cost of the program. This allows Larimer County to carry out offender sentences at a much lower rate than in the Jail. The expansion at the Alternative Sentencing building will include approximately 170 new beds along with the staff space to support the expanded programs. The current women in Alternative Sentencing as well as the women's programs in Community Corrections will move in and occupy the new beds, leaving behind existing beds to be used by the men's programs in Alternative Sentencing and Community Corrections.
