The City of Lilburn, Georgia is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Repair and Resurfacing of Various City Streets on a term contract. Work will include, but not limited to: patching, crack filling, milling, overlaying existing road surface, striping and other associated construction work. Questions regarding this Invitation to Bid should be directed to Kathy Hill, City Purchasing Director, at khill@cityoflilburn.com , no later than June 16, 2020. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted. All bids should be submitted in duplicate. Successful firm(s) will be required to meet insurance requirements. The Insurance Company should be authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-5 or higher. A five percent (5%) bid bond, a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond, and a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond must be furnished to THE City of Lilburn for any bid as required in bid package or document. Failure to submit a bid bond with the proper rating may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive. Contract will begin on the issuance date of the Notice to Proceed and continue through November 6, 2020. Contractor can schedule the work within this timeframe in the manner that is most cost-effective, though it is important that once any work has begun on a given street, progress must proceed promptly through completion. Failure to complete all required work under this contract by November 6, 2020 will result in the assessment of Liquidated Damages in the amount of one hundred ($100.00) per calendar day for every day beyond this date.
