Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Mariposa, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Construction of a New Bridge on Darrah Road, over the West Fork of the Chowchilla River. The scope of work includes removing and replacing the existing bridge with a new single span bridge approximately 51 feet in length. The new bridge will be located slightly offset of the original roadway alignment requiring phased construction . The new bridge construction includes spread footings on lean concrete subgrade and a cast-in-place/prestressed deck. The project will also include 10-foot approach slabs and wingwalls on both sides, rock slope protection, and approximately 619 feet of AC approach roadways,. Engineers Estimate is $5 million. This is a prevailing wage contract, and the Required DBE is 14%. A valid Class A General Engineering California Contractor License (including current PWCR # prior to bid opening) is required. Work will then be suspended until the Contractor may enter the creek.
