The City of Portage (City) is soliciting proposals from vendors (referred to hereafter as "Firm") for the design, construction and maintenance of a new underground single-mode fiber network connecting primary city buildings and facilities. The successful Bidder, simultaneously with the execution of the contract, will be required to furnish a faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Amount, a Maintenance and Guarantee Bond equal to 25% of the Contract Amount which shall be effective for two years beyond the date of final payment, and a Labor and Material Payment Bond equal to 100% of the Contract Amount; said bonds shall be secured from an insurance company satisfactory to the City. The primary goal of the City is to construct a reliable and secure fiber optic network infrastructure that will accommodate the current and future needs and operations of the City. The required completion date for this project is - September 1, 2020. The City reserves the right to award the total proposal, to reject any or all proposals in whole or in part, and to waive any informality or technical defects if, in the City's sole judgment, the best interests of the City will be so served.
