The City of Abilene, Kansas is soliciting bids for the removal and disposal of all above ground building materials from the airplane hangar destroyed by a windstorm on May 4, 2020. The former hangar was 225' long and 50' wide, roughly 14'-18' tall, made up of wood frame, truss type roof frame structure and R panel (29 gauge) siding and roofing. The building had steel frame and R panel hangar doors; cable operated. The debris site encompasses an approximate area of 250' x 300'. The contract is for removing from site and legally disposing of all building materials. This bid also includes filling and leveling large ruts in the grass. Finish grading and seeding is not required. Bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the amount of the project, at the time of Agreement work will be complete within 30 Calendar Days.
