Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Carteret, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The project consists of the resurfacing of approximately 2.6 miles of Peter J. Sica Industrial Highway and Middlesex Avenue between Drift Way and ProLogis Way. Approximate quantities include 90,000 SY of milling, 2,300 tons of HMA base course, 12,600 tons of HMA surface course, 1,900 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe, 3,000 linear feet of HDPE pipe, 1,600 linear feet of beam guide rail reconstruction, 9,000 linear feet of curb, 300 square yards of concrete walks and aprons, the installation of a signalized pedestrian intersection, associated work, and restoration. The said Contract Documents and Proposal sheets may be examined at the office of the Carteret Municipal Clerk, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey 07008. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within ten (10) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the bid security as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check. A bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid may be substituted for certified check, except the amount of the bid security shall not be less than $500.00 - nor more than $20,000.00. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience and Certificate of Equipment. An award will be made or proposals will be rejected within sixty (60) calendar days after the opening of the proposals, unless Mayor and Council extends the award period. The Borough reserves the right to award this contract based on funds available.
