Renovation of an educational facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

**As of June 25, 2020, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The project scope is to replace the existing storefront entry system, install new finishes on the walls & ceiling. Contractor is responsible for providing ground penetrating radar to avoid reinforcement and utilities in or under concrete slabs. Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State laws governing their respective trades and that North Carolina General Statute 87 will be observed in receiving and awarding contracts. Bidders must be pre-qualified by UNC-CH for the General Contractor classification. No bid may be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of 30 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities. Bids shall be made only on the BID/ACEPTANCE form provided with all blank spaces for bids properly filled in and all signatures properly executed. Please note on the envelope: Attention: George Kirschmann (UNC Construction Manager) Bid For RENOVATION OF MAIN ENTRANCE At Peabody Hall CFP20178 Dependent on the lead times of products & materials, UNC will coordinate with the GC to verify final phasing of the project after the bid is awarded. Below is our initial timeline for phasing and the work that would be prioritized to accommodate the start of classes and the use of the main entrance. Phase 1: This portion of the scope of work is estimated to start on June 22nd and would be completed by August 21st and will include: o Ceiling work: including mechanical, electrical, FA & lighting for inspection o Terrazzo floor and walk-off system o Start Front Entry storefront systems - left to right Phase 2: This portion of the scope of work is estimated to start on August 24th and would be completed by September 30th and will include: o All walls & trim o Continuation of Front Entry storefront systems MINORITY BUSINESS PARTICIPATION GS 143-128.2 establishes a ten percent (10%) goal for participation by minority business in total value of work for each State building project. The contractor shall comply with the document Guidelines for Recruitment and Selection of Minority Businesses for Participation in State Construction Contracts including Identification of Minority Business Participation, Affidavits A, B, C, and D, and Appendix E. These forms provided herein are hereby incorporated and made a part of this contract. TIME OF COMPLETION/LIQUIDATED DAMAGES The Contractor shall commence work to be performed under this Contract on the date to be specified in the Notice to Proceed from the Contract Administrator and shall fully complete all work hereunder within 93 consecutive calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. No liquidated damages are specified for this project. If the Contractor is delayed at any time in the progress of the Contractor's work by any act or negligence of the Owner, the Owner's employees or the Owner's separate Contractor; by changes ordered in the work; by abnormal weather conditions; by any causes beyond the Contractor's control; or by other causes deemed justifiable by Owner, then the contract time may be reasonably extended in a written order from the Owner upon written request from the Contractor within ten (10) days following the cause for delay. o Last day for questions: May 29, 2020 by 2 pm o Issue addendum: June 2, 2020 o Notice to proceed estimated: June 23, 2020 o Pre-construction meeting estimated: June 25, 2020
