Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 20,823-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows: Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: Construction will include site development, and a new building to provide administrative space, lodging for personnel, and a garage facility for fire-fighting equipment. The single story with mezzanine, 17,350 SF fire station structure will be comprised of structural steel frame and load bearing concrete masonry units with metal stud infill at the exterior. The roof will be wood trusses over the main building, and metal trusses over the apparatus bay with standing seam metal roofing. Exterior cladding will be architectural concrete masonry units and face brick. Aluminum storefront windows will be utilized for the exterior fenestration while the interior doors will be primarily wood veneer New doors and frames. Interior partitions will be non-load bearing metal studs and drywall. Finishes will include painted drywall, carpet tile, LVT, and ceramic tile. Ceilings will be a combination of suspended drywall and acoustic ceilings. The building will include electrical and data systems, lighting, plumbing and HVAC system and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. The Work will be substantially completed within 300 calendar days from Notice to Commence. Liquidated damages shall be $750.00 per calendar day. A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Berkeley County Fire Board, for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base Bid. Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractors license on the date of Bid Opening. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders. Berkeley County Fire Board - reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
