The renovations to the existing Jackson Park will create a lively and engaging community park site and facility for users of all ages. Phase 2 includes a new community center, playground, shade structures, and open green space with pedestrian lighting, planting, and stormwater management features. Bids, amendments to bids, or requests for withdrawal of bids, received after the time specified for bid opening shall not be considered for any cause whatsoever, except as required by law. Bids shall be firm for a period of forty-five (45) days from the date of the opening of bids and no bid shall be withdrawn for any reason during this period of time except as allowed per LSA-R.S.38:2214.C. Bidders shall obtain an original set of bidding documents from BREC as follows. Any foreign conditions will render the proposal invalid and may cause its rejection. A Certified Check or Cashier's Check, payable to the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge or a satisfactory Bid Bond, in compliance with LSA-R.S. 38:2218.A&C, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each paper bid. All Contractors bidding on this work shall comply with all provisions of the State Licensing Law for Contractors, LSA-R.S. 37:2150-2163, as amended, for all public contracts. It shall also be the responsibility of the General Contractor to assure that all subcontractors comply with this law. Contractors must be licensed in the proper category of work. If required for bidding, Contractors must hold an active license issued by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors in the classification of "Building Construction" and must show their license number on the face of the bid envelope and the Uniform Public Works Bid Form. BREC reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause as allowed by LSA-R.S. 38:2214.
