Site work for a water / sewer project in Holden, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The approximate scope of work includes but is not necessarily limited to: Base Bid: Chemical root treatment of 4,902 l.f. of sewer; cleaning and inspection, testing and sealing of 401 l.f. of sewer; installation of 138 l.f. of cured-in-place short liners; installation of 6,261 l.f. of cured-in-place pipe and reinstatement and grouting of 70 services; cutting five (5) protruding service connections; inspection and testing and sealing of 15 service connections; cleaning and television inspection of 2,301 l.f. of sewer; cementitious lining of 562 v.f. of manholes; installation of 19 manhole frame and covers; installation of one (1) internal chimney seal; grouting and patching of nine (9) manholes; and other related work. Alternate Bid No. 1: Chemical root treatment of 392 l.f. of sewer; cleaning and inspection, testing and sealing of 1,950 l.f. of sewer; installation of 24 l.f. of cured-in-place short liners; inspection and testing and sealing of four (4) service connections; cementitious lining of 11 v.f. of manholes; and other related work. Alternate Bid No. 2: Chemical root treatment of 1,360 l.f. of sewer; installation of 20 l.f. of cured-in-place short liners; installation of 785 l.f. of cured-in-place pipe and reinstatement and grouting of 14 services; cutting two (2) protruding service connections; inspection and testing and sealing of 12 service connections; cementitious lining of 18 v.f. of manholes; grouting and patching of two (2) manholes; and other related work. The work of the Base Bid must be brought to final substantial completion, exclusive of warranty re-test inspection, within 87 calendar days, or if selected the Base Bid and Alternate Bid No. 1 within 94 calendar days, or if selected the Base Bid and Alternate Bid No. 1 and Alternate Bid No. 2 within 108 calendar days of the start date fixed in the "Notice to Proceed." The Contractor shall complete Base Bid warranty re-test inspection within 21 calendar days of the commencement of warranty re-test inspection, or if selected the Base Bid and Alternate Bid No. 1 within 21 calendar days of the commencement of warranty re-test inspection, or if selected the Base Bid and Alternate Bid No. 1 and Alternate Bid No. 2 within 28 calendar days of the commencement of warranty re-test inspection. Time is of the essence in the performance of the work of this contract. Bidders attention is directed to the provisions in the Project Manual regarding the assessment of liquidated damages for failure to complete the work within the time specified. The Bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $1,300.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter during which the work has not been fully completed, as provided in the "Liquidated Damages" provisions of Section 00800 SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS. Liquidated damages shall also apply to the warranty re-test durations. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. tain the Contract Documents directly from Accent. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids.
