The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors is soliciting submissions from Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) to provide their qualifications and prove their abilities to conduct an audit of DeSoto County owned buildings and facilities and provide recommendations to reduce costs of energy and water use and to cut our overall utility costs, including maintenance. ESCO qualifications will be submitted in accordance with Section 31-7-14 of the Mississippi Code, the Mississippi Development Authority-Energy and Natural Resources Division's Policy and Procedures for Energy Performance Contracting and the Request for Qualifications. After the audit phase of the project is complete, the county will consider whether to enter into an energy performance contract with the perspective ESCO. If an energy performance contract is approved, the project should be funded by the annual savings of the energy performance contract. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities.
