WCS LEGAL NOTICE REQUEST FOR BID RFB #1250 Classroom Addition Summit High School Williamson County Schools (WCS) is currently accepting sealed bids from licensed and qualified general contractors interested in bidding on construction of a new classroom addition at Summit High School. In the event WCS must reschedule a bid opening date or time, the specifications obtained from the WCS Purchasing Dept. shall reflect the actual date and time. Once the sealed bid envelope is submitted to WCS, the Purchasing Department will stamp the face of the envelope to authenticate the actual date and time it is received. A. Demolition of certain portions of the existing building as required for connection of new building additions, existing sidewalks, and rerouting of existing utilities. B. Construction of a two-story classroom addition and walkway, containing approximately 46,102 square feet. Construction: Masonry bearing walls, both interior and exterior, with brick veneer, cast stone bands and accents, First floor to be concrete slab on grade with concrete masonry unit foundation walls and concrete spread footings. Second floor framing to be precast hollow core concrete planks with concrete topping. Roof structure to be light gauge metal trusses with metal decking and precast hollow core planks at one story connecting walkway. Roofing system to be standing seam metal roofing with areas of EPDM membrane roofing over tapered rigid insulation. Windows to be aluminum storefront Floor finishes include vinyl composition tile, carpet, resinous flooring, and luxury vinyl tile. Exterior doors to be FRP, and interior doors to be HPL finished wood doors. Interior walls to be concrete masonry units with some metal stud/ gypsum wallboard finished with paint. Ceilings shall be lay-in type acoustic tile, gypsum drywall, or exposed structure with suspended acoustical panels. Furnishings to include manufactured casework, science casework tops and tables, and window blinds. HVAC system to be geothermal with outside air units, Addition and walkway to be protected by fully automatic sprinkler system. Electrical to include power, lighting and fire alarm systems include new fire alarm panels in the existing building.
